Job summary

UF Health Leesburg Hospital is seeking a part-time Clinical Laboratory Technologist Generalist to join a dedicated team in Leesburg, FL. The role focuses on performing diagnostic procedures and maintaining strong collaboration with hospital departments.

The ideal candidate will hold an Associate's degree in MLT or related field, and possess an Active Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist license. English proficiency is required for all interactions within the lab and with staff.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in MLT or related field required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Schedule flexibility.
• Meets attendance policy- absence and tardy.
• Keeps bench stocked and communicates with other shifts using log/verbal notes or other tools.
• Completes assigned work within the allotted time frame including Turnaround time, proficiency testing.
• Performs routine patient testing and reporting including Critical results per Lab standards.
• Reports and records results including patient, QC, proficiency testing, maintenance records timely and correctly.
• Operates assigned Lab instruments with QC reviews and maintenance checks.
• Participates in department/hospital committees and mentoring/precepting.
• Attends staff meetings and completes required competencies and mandatory education.
• Seeks training and certification in area focus/specialty.
• Demonstrates professional behavior with physicians, peers, patients and families.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
