Job summary

Indiana University in Bloomington is seeking a part-time Optometry Technician to provide quality patient care within the IU School of Optometry. You will work with imaging equipment for clinical care and student instruction, and train students in patient care and policies.

You will schedule referrals for outside appointments, coordinate records, and collaborate with faculty to ensure top-notch patient service across clinics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
• Proficient communication skills required.
• Optometric technician experience preferred.

• Transmits image data to image technology database and corrects any errors.
• Trains and supervises optometry students in patient care and administrative policies.

• Works directly with faculty in support of providing excellent patient care for all clinics.
• Ensures compliance by collecting and maintaining federally required documentation.
• Triages patient concerns.
