Part-time Clinic Adjunct Faculty – College of Law - 26657

Description

The College of Law at West Virginia University invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty positions to supervise students in the clinical law program across various areas of law. Candidates should demonstrate expertise and practice experience relevant to the clinics they will supervise, and be committed to providing rigorous educational experiences while ensuring competent client representation. Each adjunct typically supervises one or two student teams per semester, with teams consisting of two students, maintaining the same composition across both semesters.

• Collaborate with clinical law faculty and staff
• Manage cases diligently and effectively
• Travel to meetings and court proceedings as needed
• Foster a positive, collaborative learning environment
• Provide prompt, constructive feedback to students
• Be responsive and available to students
• Follow academic policies and recordkeeping procedures
• Attend all required training and meetings during the semester

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a J.D. degree, possess an active bar license, and be admitted to the relevant court(s) where the clinic operates. Evidence of good standing with the bar and a minimum of three years of professional legal experience are required.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Supervisory experience in legal practice
• Engagement with the College of Law
• Judicial clerkship or similar experience
