Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Sixty college credits or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment exam within 10 years required.
• Previous experience working with students preferred.
• Ability to work harmoniously with staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce learning for individual students or small groups.
• Assist in devising strategies for reinforcing material based on student needs.
• Operate and care for classroom equipment used for instruction.
• Distribute and collect workbooks, papers and materials for instruction.
• Guide independent study and remedial work set by the teacher.
• Assist with supervision during drills, assemblies, field trips and meals.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Participate in inservice training programs as assigned.
• Alert regular teacher to problems or information about a student.
• Serve as information resource for substitute teachers.
