Job summary

Berkeley Heights Public Schools is seeking a HELP Teacher/Classroom Assistant who, under the direction of the classroom teacher, assists with instructional and non-instructional activities to provide students with direct supervision and instruction. This role supports a collaborative learning environment in the classroom.

The position is part-time, up to 29.5 hours per week, with a starting hourly rate of $31.62.

Qualifications

• Preferred a Bachelor’s Degree with coursework in early childhood training, psychology, classroom methods or related areas.
• Preferred a New Jersey Teaching Certificate
• Demonstrated ability to assist with instructional activities and to communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians and school staff.
• Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Successful Criminal History Clearance.
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization.

• Assist the classroom teacher with instructional activities.
