Job summary

Heritage Christian School in Indianapolis seeks a classroom support role to assist the lead teacher with daily duties, help manage student arrival, dismissal, lunch and recess, and provide tutoring as needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma; a teaching degree is appreciated but not required. The position follows the academic calendar and is based on on-site work in a faith-centered educational environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Teaching degree preferred but not essential.
• Experience with children or in a classroom is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily arrival and dismissal of students.
• Assist in lunch duties and recess duties for the grade level assigned.
• Tutor children individually or in small groups as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Assist the classroom teacher in daily duties as requested and assigned.
• Act as substitute teacher as the need arises and as requested by the school principal or designee.
• Assist with clerical work such as phone calls, grading, assisting with bulletin boards, typing, proofreading, daily classroom preparations.
• Assist with special events within a grade level.
• Assist with special activities and projects within a classroom or grade level.
