Job summary

UNC-Chapel Hill seeks a Visiting Part-time Instructor of Classical Saxophone in the Music Department. The instructor will provide individual lessons, lead a studio class, and coach saxophone quartets for undergraduates and non-majors, preparing students for juries and performances.

Minimum qualifications: a Master’s degree or commensurate professional experience and college teaching; a Doctorate in saxophone performance is preferred, with ensemble coaching experience valued.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or commensurate professional experience and experience teaching individual lessons.
• Doctorate in saxophone performance or closely related field; 2 years teaching experience at the college level; experience coaching small performance ensembles.

Responsibilities

• Provide half-hour and 1-hour weekly saxophone lessons to undergraduates and non-majors.
• Lead weekly studio class for private instruction students.
• Coach saxophone quartet and chamber ensembles.
• Prepare students for end-of-semester juries and routine performances.
