Job summary

JCFS Chicago is seeking a part-time JCFS-JVS Support for Communities role in Chicago, IL. The position involves outreach to promote HIAS Citizenship & Immigration services and coordination of citizenship programs.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree, cross-cultural experience, and strong MS Office skills. A flexible schedule, valid driver's license, and the ability to travel across Chicagoland are preferred, with grant funding covering the term.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Cross-cultural experience preferred, especially with refugees or immigrant clients.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends/evenings.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Engages in outreach activities to promote HIAS Citizenship & Immigration services.
• Facilitates relationships with other immigration providers and orgs.
• Coordinates citizenship classes and related programs, including scheduling and materials.
• Gives presentations on immigration topics to diverse audiences.
• Coordinates volunteer efforts and training for citizenship work.
• Represents JCFS Chicago at meetings with agencies and partners.
• Collects data and produces statistics on service volume.
• Attends staff meetings and collaborates to strengthen programs.
• Maintains positive relationships with internal and external contacts.
• Keeps current on US immigration policy and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
