Job summary

Dover Public Library is seeking a reliable, personable staff member with strong customer service skills. The role includes assisting patrons in the Children’s Room and Adult sections, helping with printing, and guiding users of technology and online resources.

Hours are evenings in the Children’s Room Mondays 5:00-8:30pm and every other Saturday, averaging 7.5 hours per week. Position is open until filled, with opportunities to develop programs for children and outreach in the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Avid interest in books, reading, and IT is desirable.
• Previous library experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Check library materials in/out, renewals, holds, and reshelving.
• Assist patrons with technology, printing, and online searching.
• Explain policies to children and adults in the Children’s Room and Adult sections.
• Plan and run programs for children and outreach activities.
• Prepare displays, story times, and promotional materials.
