Right At School, a program serving Ledyard Public Schools, is seeking a Part Time Childcare Educator. The role supports before/after school activities with a focus on safety, learning, and engaging daily programs.

The ideal candidate has customer service skills, teamwork, and experience with children under 13; must meet CT state requirements, have First Aid/CPR in person, and be able to lift 25 lbs. Programs run Monday–Friday with morning and afternoon shifts.

Formación

• Connecticut state requirements must be met, including First Aid and CPR.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be 18+ years of age and meet health and safety standards.
• At least 540 hours of related experience with children 13 and under.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and active in a classroom setting.

Right At School provides local school districts before and after school extended day programs with a focus on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment dedicated to the success of all students! Program Hours: Monday - Friday 6:30 AM - 8:35 AM and 3:10 PM - 6:00 PM

You’ll drive the mission by:

• Daily Program Meetings:Each day, review goals and updates, share ideas,discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.


• Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring they align with the program’s objectives. Organize and lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum; that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.


• Leading by Example: Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring children are enjoying themselves while also meeting program goals. You will achieve this by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.


• Prioritize Safety and Joy: Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols. These may include documenting attendance, incidents, and other observations.


• Communication: Effective communication with a varied audience, including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Ideal Candidates will have the following:

• Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills


• Works well in a team environment


• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age


• Ability to lift 25lbs


• Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living


• Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed

Connecticut State Requirements:

• Ability to meet state-specific requirements;


• First Aid and CPR-in-person


• Cleared tuberculosis test


• Proof of MMR


• 18+ years of age


• Proof of High School diploma/GED required


• At least five hundred and forty (540) hours documented experience in working with unrelated children of the same age(s) to be served in this child day care center or group daycare home
