Job summary

Starting immediately, the position pays $15.60 per hour and is non-exempt. Responsibilities include food prep, serving, and basic cash handling within a state-regulated program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or higher.
• Valid TB test and health examination by local county board of health or recognized medical authority.
• Basic computer and cashiering skills.
• Lead Child Nutrition Assistants must be ServSafe or Safe Plate certified.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a working relationship with other employees and staff.
• Politely and respectfully serves students, staff, parents, and others.
• Accepts responsibility for multiple tasks without supervision.
• Follows a work schedule, plans ahead, and helps others on the child nutrition team.
• Follows standardized recipes for all preparation.
• Performs duties involved in safe preparation and handling of food, cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities, serving of food, and record keeping.
• Washes and prepares vegetables for cooking.
• Cleans kitchen equipment.
• Collects meal money from students and records lunch numbers.
• Prepares chef salads.
• Checks in groceries, stores them, takes inventory and dates stock.
