Positive Development is seeking a Part-time Child Development Specialist to work with autistic children in home-based settings, focusing on communication, social, and daily living skills through play and relationship-based interactions.

Ideal candidates include Education majors, psychology students, pre-meds, nursing students, OT/SLP hopefuls, and caregivers who are patient, empathetic, reliable, and excited to grow with experienced clinicians.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (must be 18+).
• Valid driver’s license + reliable transportation (30–40 min drive radius).
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including floor play and lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Strong communication with families and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Build communication, social, and daily living skills through play and shared activities.
• Create meaningful connections to engage children with their world.
• Follow a relationship-based intervention model to achieve outcomes with fewer sessions.
• Document session notes and progress toward goals.
• Collaborate with clinicians to develop clinical skills and confidence.
• Learn evidence-based developmental care in real-life settings.
