Job summary

Bright Horizons is hiring a part-time Assistant Teacher in Ames, IA. You will support daily activities, supervise children, and communicate milestones to parents, while following safety policies. This role involves in-person work at our early education centers.

Candidates should be at least 18 with a HS diploma or GED; 1 year of child care experience is preferred, and a CDA/Associate/Bachelor’s in early education is a plus. Background checks are required, and immunization health guidelines apply.

Qualifications

• Must pass state and company background checks.
• 18+ with HS diploma or GED.
• 1 year of experience in child care, daycare, or preschool settings preferred.
• CDA, Associate, or Bachelor's degree in early education or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of the children.
• Maintain open communication with parents, sharing their child's daily milestones.
• Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines.
• Fulfill mandated reporter requirements as defined by the State agency and inform the director.
• Provide support in any classroom or age group where teaching coverage is needed across a center or nearby locations.
