Johnson County Community College is seeking a part-time Child Care Aide-Substitute at the Hiersteiner Child Development Center in Overland Park, KS. This temporary, non-exempt role involves assisting staff and supporting activities for young children, with scheduling varying by department needs and approx.

12 hours per week. Responsibilities include engaging children, following licensing and program regulations, assisting with lesson plans, and maintaining a safe, organized classroom.

Formación

• Requires a High School Diploma and 0-3 years of related experience.

Responsabilidades

• Engage with the children; teach, change diapers and potty train, lead group and outside time, set up meals, conduct rest time, and lead social play activities.
• Uphold and follow all HCDC, Kansas Department of Health and Environment childcare licensing, the Child and Adult Federal Food Program regulations, and National Association for the Education of Young Children accreditation requirements.
• Assist with the implementation of the lesson plans, activities, or classroom activities.
• Maintain a positive and professional work environment with colleagues and families.
• Remain current on Early Childhood Education trends and best practices.
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Maintain an organized learning environment to maximize student time on tasks.
• Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity, may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, scheduling and location may be changed as required.
