Job summary

Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia seeks an experienced adjunct instructor to teach one or more sections of General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related courses in-person. The appointment supports undergraduate education and involves preparing lectures, labs, and assessments.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred), has college-level teaching experience, and is familiar with laboratory safety and learning management systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree required.
• Preferred: Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field; college-level teaching experience; familiarity with lab safety and LMS (Canvas, Blackboard).

Responsibilities

• Provide support and guidance to students.
• Instruct an assigned course providing syllabi and instructional materials.
• Use LMS to deliver instruction; prepare and deliver course materials (lectures, labs, assignments, assessments).
• Maintain course records, grade assignments, and submit final grades.
• Provide students with regular feedback and be available during office hours or by appointment.
• Adhere to departmental and university policies and deadlines.
• Coordinate with course coordinators and laboratory staff as needed.
