Primary duties:
Qualifications:
M.Div. or similar required
4 units of CPE preferred; minimum of 1 unit of CPE
Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
The Spiritual Care Services department is made up of three service lines: Chaplaincy, Chaplaincy Education and Ethics Committee support. Each of these service lines participates within the healthcare interdisciplinary teams at Barnes-Jewish Hospital with the goal of healing body, mind and spirit. Department personnel are comprised of Board-Certified Professional Chaplains, Chaplain Manager, Chaplain Supervisor, ACPE Chaplain Supervisor, Chaplain Residents, Chaplain Interns, and Volunteers.
Role Purpose
Provides spiritual care, short term counseling, worship leadership, education and other religious support to patients, families and staff as members of the interdisciplinary care team.
