Stoney Point Meadows, a Cassia community, seeks a compassionate Chaplain to support residents, families and staff through worship, visits, communion and memorial services.

This part-time role (20 hours/week) requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, church credentialing, and pastoral care experience, with onsite duties at 1900 Stoney Point Road SW, Cedar Rapids, IA. You will be part of a mission-driven elder care team emphasizing compassion and integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent experience required.
• Must be credentialed in the Evangelical Free Church or willing to become credentialed.
• Prior experience in counseling or pastoral care.
• Active in a local church and growing in spiritual life.
• Must maintain confidential information.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team player who has a passion for elder care and adapts quickly to changing situations.
• Other activities include frequent kneeling, crouching, and stooping to communicate and pray with residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care to care for residents, families and employees.
• Visit residents on an individual basis and determine type of involvement appropriate for meeting their spiritual and emotional needs.
• Document and maintain accurate records of visits with residents using basic computer programs.
• Research and prepare materials to conduct Bible study, resident devotions, and worship.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
