Job summary

CareVet of Oconto Falls is seeking a Part-time Certified Veterinary Technician. We support our team with training to enhance technical skills and offer a living wage, strong benefits, mental health support, ongoing education, and a revenue sharing program.

The role covers medical record checks, patient care, anesthesia, lab work, radiography, prescriptions, and owner communication. Applicants must be Wisconsin-licensed CVTs and able to lift 50 lbs with multi-tasking ability in a busy clinic.

Qualifications

• Certified Veterinary Technician licensed in Wisconsin.
• Must multi-task, think quickly, and build positive relationships with clients and co-workers.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Duties include patient data entry and conducting routine lab work and testing.

Responsibilities

• Checks patient medical records for past histories and enters treatments and charges.
• Restraints animals for Veterinarian as required.
• Maintains client education materials in an efficient manner.
• Performs blood draws and testing procedures with minimal patient discomfort.
• Assists Veterinarian with in-patient care and IV fluids management.
• Performs anesthesia induction and monitoring.
• Dispenses medications and feeds patients as directed.
• Communicates with owners about medications, warnings and potential complications.
• Operates and references patient information in the computer system.
• Prepares specimens for mailing and maintains exam room and equipment readiness.
• Cross-training to assist in all areas as needed.
