Job summary

Advocate Surgery Center Libertyville, a member of the SCA Health network, is hiring a Part-Time Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support surgeons, nurses, and patients throughout the perioperative experience in an ambulatory surgery setting.

Responsibilities include maintaining sterile fields, assisting in procedures, and ensuring infection prevention standards are met, with a focus on delivering safe, high-quality outpatient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the scrub technologist during surgical and other invasive procedures.
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team during procedures.
• Clean, inspect, and prepare surgical instruments for processing.
• Transport instruments and equipment to decontamination areas according to established protocols.
• Assist with post-procedure room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases.
• Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
