Job summary

Seven Counties in Louisville, KY seeks a Part-time Peer Support Specialist to join the treatment team and assist clients with recovery planning, crisis planning, and connection to resources. You will educate clients on recovery and wellness, model coping strategies, and collaborate with case management to ensure comprehensive support.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, certification as a Kentucky Peer Support Specialist, and registration with the Kentucky Board of Alcohol and Drug

Qualifications

• Have a current or past diagnosis of a mental health disorder, and have received or be receiving treatment.
• Preferred over six months' experience as a Peer Support Specialist or leading recovery groups or programs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of applicable population group and principles/philosophy of recovery.

Responsibilities

• Participate as an active member of the treatment team, including team meetings and treatment planning meetings.
• Assist clients in the development of recovery plans, including crisis plans.
• Provide education and resources about recovery and wellness; implement and coordinate recovery plans.
• Serve as a role model by sharing recovery experiences and teaching coping techniques and self-help strategies.
• Connect clients to resources and services in collaboration with case management; maintain accurate records and advocate for clients.
• Manage caseload to maximize direct care time and achieve productivity targets; maintain training documentation.
