Job summary

The Humane Society for Southwest Washington in Vancouver, WA, is seeking a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) for a part-time, nonexempt role (20–25 hours per week). Responsibilities

• Design and implement education and behavior training programs with shelter leadership.
• Plan and conduct group training sessions for the public (puppy and adult classes).
• Create training plans to prevent surrender and support foster families.
• Provide post-adoption training support for successful transitions.
• Develop individualized plans for foster caregivers addressing behavioral needs.
• Regularly report training progress to shelter staff and leadership; assist with outreach content.
