Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour
Job Summary
Responsible for delivering and picking up containers from customer locations, ensuring efficient and incident-free service while maintaining excellent customer rapport.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive and operate a commercial truck with a patented lift mechanism to load and unload containers safely, following all safety rules.
- Perform and log daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and lift.
- Accept additional deliveries as needed to meet business requirements.
- Use company handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation.
- Operate a forklift and/or overhead crane.
- Clean and inspect containers to ensure they are presentable for delivery.
- Coordinate rental paperwork and payments with customers.
- Communicate with the Driver Lead or Market Manager regarding customer questions or issues; prepare driver notes as needed.
- Perform repairs on containers and lifts in the field and at the storage center.
- Provide backup for storage center functions when required.
- Maintain cleanliness of the truck cab, inside and outside.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Management & Supervisory Responsibilities
- Typically reports to Management; direct supervisor titles include Market Manager or Territory Manager.
- This role is not responsible for managing other employees directly.
Pay Range
$23.00 per hour
Qualifications: Education & Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid CDL Class B License without air brake restrictions.
- Must maintain a current driver license.
- Meet PODS Driver Qualification Standards.
- At least 21 years old (insurance requirement).
- Possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate or ability to obtain one (DOT requirement).
- Experience with electronic equipment and software preferred.
- Math skills sufficient for job duties.
- Equivalent education, training, or experience acceptable.
- Ability to attend a 2-week New Hire Driver Training Program.
