Job summary

Essential Functions:

  1. Customer Service
  2. Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
  3. Seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
  4. Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions, walking them through projects when necessary.
  5. Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers.
  6. Communicates information regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, applications, and warranty information related to Lowe’s programs.
  7. Contacts customers regarding delivery or coordinates with the truck driver to call the customer.

In-stock

  1. Plans delivery activities, prints loading tickets, and delivers merchandise according to schedule to ensure on-time delivery of orders.
  2. Pulls merchandise, builds and bands delivery loads, and loads trucks within payload limits according to delivery order.
  3. Inspects condition of products before loading for delivery or assisting customers with loading.
  4. Matches items on invoice with quantities loaded by verifying descriptions, items, and model numbers.

Clean and Safe Stores

  1. Ensures loads are safe, secure, and within Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  2. Updates delivery and route status on systems for tracking purposes.
  3. Unloads, installs, and tests appliances upon delivery.
  4. Verifies daily vehicle inspections and reports, ensuring cleanliness, maintenance, and repairs for delivery vehicles and equipment.
  5. Completes DOT reporting to maintain certification and compliance.
  6. Detects signs of shoplifting, theft, and security risks, promptly communicating them to management or Asset Protection.
  7. Maintains cleanliness and organization of store and work areas, adhering to safety standards.
  8. Operates store equipment as needed based on specific role and department.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Class A CDL License (required for locations with multi-unit CMV) or Class B CDL License with air brake endorsement (for single-unit CMV locations).
  • Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment.
  • Ability to pass MVR screening.
  • Ability to obtain necessary sales-related licensure or registration.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations.

Preferences:

  • 1 year experience driving semi-truck/trailer or certification from a driving school.
  • 6 months experience in in-home delivery or retail customer service.
  • 3 months experience operating a forklift or Moffett for onloading/offloading.
