Job description

Essential Functions:

1. Customer Service
   Provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs. Seeks out customers to understand their needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise. Listens to and responds knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions, guiding them through projects when necessary. Demonstrates sincere appreciation to customers. Communicates information about stock, special order merchandise, features, benefits, applications, and warranties related to Lowe’s programs. Contacts customers regarding delivery or coordinates with truck drivers to call customers.
2. In-stock
   Plans delivery activities, prints loading tickets, and delivers merchandise according to schedule to ensure on-time delivery of orders. Pulls merchandise, builds and bands delivery loads, and loads trucks within payload limits according to delivery order. Inspects product conditions before loading or assisting customers with loading. Verifies invoice items with loaded quantities by checking descriptions, items, and model numbers.
3. Clean and Safe Stores
   Ensures loads are safe, secure, and compliant with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Updates delivery and route status on tracking systems. Unloads, installs, and tests appliances upon delivery. Verifies vehicle inspections and maintains cleanliness, repairs, and safety of delivery vehicles and equipment. Completes DOT reporting to maintain certification and compliance. Detects security risks like shoplifting and theft, reporting them promptly. Ensures store and work area cleanliness and organization. Maintains a safe work environment by conducting safety reviews, noting hazards, and securing areas. Operates store equipment as needed based on role. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Class A CDL License required for locations with multi-unit CMV (tractor trailer & flatbed).
  or
• Class B CDL License with air brake endorsement required for locations with single-unit CMV (tandem flatbed).
• Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment.
• Ability to pass MVR screening per company requirements.
• Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required by law.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations.

Preferences:

• 1 year experience driving semi-truck/trailer or certification from a driving school.
• 6 months experience in in-home delivery or retail customer service.
• 3 months experience operating a forklift or Moffett for onloading/offloading.
