Job summary

Meyer Logisitcs is seeking a part-time CDL Class A Driver and Backup Box Truck Driver for Orlando, FL. You will transport freight from distribution centers to cross docks, and provide backup coverage for box truck drivers.

This role offers $25.00 per hour, Monday–Friday, with roughly 8:00 AM–2:00 PM shifts, great home time, and no forced dispatch.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of CDL Class A tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Valid CDL Class A license with no restrictions.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety requirements.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and lift 75+ lbs.
• Ability to pass drug/alcohol screenings and background check.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport and deliver freight in a timely, legal manner.
• Hook/unhook trailers and secure freight.
• Load/unload using forklift or manual methods.
• Complete DOT-compliant paperwork and inspections.
• Maintain compliance with DOT safety regulations.

Looking for a part-time driving opportunity with a stable, growing company? Join our team as a CDL Class A Driver & Backup Box Truck Driver!

In this role, you’ll transport a variety of freight from distribution centers to cross docks using a tractor-trailer, while also providing backup coverage for our box truck drivers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Safely transport and deliver freight in a timely, efficient, and legal manner
• Hook and unhook trailers and properly secure freight
• Install and remove tire chains as needed
• Load and unload freight, including lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying materials
• Load and unload trucks using a forklift and manlift
• Safely and efficiently operate a forklift
• Complete required paperwork and maintain DOT-compliant records
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and routine equipment inspections
• Report maintenance needs and equipment defects promptly
• Follow all state, federal, and DOT regulations
• Maintain compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Represent M and the transportation industry in a professional manner
• Perform heavy lifting of 75+ lbs.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 1 year of CDL Class A tractor-trailer driving experience with vehicles over 26,000 lbs.
• Valid CDL Class A License with no restrictions
• Working knowledge of DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Ability to meet all DOT medical and safety requirements
• Must successfully complete required drug and alcohol screening
• Acceptable background investigation results
• Ability and willingness to safely operate a forklift
• Ability to safely perform heavy lifting of 75+ lbs.
