Job summary

Music Ministry International invites a skilled Catholic Music Director to serve as a 1099 contractor at the Vandenberg SFB Chapel. You will lead worship music, direct rehearsals, coordinate with the Chaplain/Priest, and supervise volunteer choirs and teams.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, preparing music, coordinating special services, managing calendars and budgets, and ensuring proper equipment handling.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and able to communicate clearly in English.
• Minimum two years of experience as a music director/musician in a church environment, preferably Catholic worship.
• Bachelor degree in music performance preferred but not required.
• Ability to lead/direct singing and blend vocalists with instrumentalists.
• Undergo FBI background check and be current on reinvestigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a professional Roman Catholic worship music experience as directed by the Chaplain/Priest.
• Direct music activities, including rehearsals and worship services, with singers and musicians.
• Schedule, train, and supervise the choir/praise team and volunteers.
• Develop annual calendar, chapel budget, and volunteer training requirements.
• Select music that fits theme and readings; coordinate with Chaplain/Priest.
• Coordinate special musical performances at least seven days prior to services.
• Ensure operation and security of audio/visual equipment and facilities.
