Job summary

The University of North Dakota in Grand Forks is seeking a part-time food service server. This non-benefited, on-site role requires 20 hours per week and pay between $15.65 and $17 per hour.

You will set up dining areas, attend to guests, know the menu, bus dishes, maintain safety, and provide exceptional customer service while working weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to stand 3-4 hours at a time.
• Must be 18+ with valid driver's license.
• Criminal History Background Check required.

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time non benefited position.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Set-up the tables, lay table linens, chairs, silver wares, center pieces, glassware etc., as assigned
• Attend to the guest’s needs and requests.
• Server must have knowledge on what food he or she is serving in the case of a guest asking
• Promptly bus dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal
• Perform cleaning tasks and breakdown of service
• Wash dishes as needed
• Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness
• Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Provide exceptional customer service to our guests

Required Competencies

• Able to stand on one's feet for 3 -4 hours
• Ability to follow instructions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to work with the preparation and disposal of fish, poultry, beef, lamb, pork and other meat products in professional culinary commercial kitchen
• Must be able to adhere to all safety and sanitation policies which include removal of all jewelry and piercings except for a plain wedding band while working in our facilities
• Hairnets and beard restraints are also a requirement in our food preparation areas
• Incumbents should have an optimistic attitude, willingness to learn new skills, high degree of integrity, and a strong work ethic
• Availability needed for weekends and evenings, Flexible schedule can be arranged

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Have a valid driver's license
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
