Job summary

C&S Wholesale Grocers, LLC is seeking a friendly cashier to operate the front-end, itemize purchases, and process payments accurately in Grand Rapids, MI. You will assist in bagging, maintain a clean checkout area, and promote store programs while delivering courteous service.

Responsibilities include handling various payment forms, operating checkout equipment, and ensuring correct pricing and loyalty prompts. Prior retail experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills; able to interact politely with customers.
• Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases and total amounts.
• Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, EBT, loyalty cards, coupons per policy.
• Weigh and bag customer purchases.
• Understand and operate check-stand equipment (register, scanner, scale, belts).
• Handle front-end duties such as merchandising check-stand items (newspapers, periodicals, candy).
• Ensure correct product identification and PLUs; report pricing or signage errors.
