Heinen’s, Inc. in Barrington, IL is seeking a part-time Cashier to operate scanners, cash registers and other electronics, process payments accurately, and support store procedures including alcohol transactions.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to work independently and meet daily tasks.
• Must comply with company policies and standards.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Able to perform repetitive tasks while standing.
• Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs and working in varied weather conditions.
• Willing to work non-traditional five-day schedule including weekends/evenings.

Responsibilities

• Operate scanners, scales, cash registers and other electronics.
• Accept payments, ensuring prices and quantities are accurate.
• Follow store procedures regarding coupons, gift cards or alcohol purchases.
• Follow company standards for proper packing.
• Acquire and share knowledge of the store.
• Prioritize daily work based on business needs.
• Attend required corporate meetings and training classes.
• Comply with all personal and food safety standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
