Job summary

Schnucks is seeking a part-time checker in the St. Louis area to provide friendly, courteous service to customers and ensure accurate checkout processes. The role involves handling various payment methods, identifying produce items, and maintaining register accuracy in a fast-paced store environment.

Candidates must be available 6am-10pm and on weekends. Training is store-based; physical demands include standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must be available between 6am-10pm and weekends.
• Internal candidates: six months (store/facility) or one year (center) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
• Greet customers prior to checking their order
• Check out customer's purchases accurately
• Identify and know produce items and properly use produce and product codes
• Distinguish between manufacturer coupons and Schnucks coupons
• Process manufacturer coupons
• Collect correct amount due from customer
• Use proper procedure of accepting cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, WIC vouchers and other payment options
• Complete register records accurately
• Practice and maintain cash security
• Bag customer orders
• Change register receipt and coupon machine tapes
• Other duties may be assigned by store management
