Job Overview:

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all interactions.
2. Greets customers in a friendly manner, whether in the designated department or elsewhere in the store.
3. Operates cash register accurately, scans all products, redeems coupons, processes transactions, and issues receipts.
4. Places merchandise neatly, assists courtesy personnel as needed.
5. Answers customer questions and concerns, following up with appropriate personnel.
6. Follows policies regarding sales of tobacco and liquor, and complies with local, state, and federal guidelines on WIC and food stamps.
7. Knows item values, lookup numbers, and features for which money is received.
8. Stocks, faces, and rotates merchandise, maintains shelves, and assists customers with locating items.
9. Reviews weekly store ads for price changes and sale items.
10. Keeps register area clean, adheres to standards, and maintains store appearance.

Job Requirements:

1. Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and deal with concrete variables.
2. Ability to perform arithmetic involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
3. Understanding and following instructions, writing identifying information, requesting supplies.
4. Visual requirements include a range of vision and depth perception.
5. Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
6. Good judgment, especially when supervision is not immediately available.
