Responsibilities:

1. Greet all customers when entering and exiting the store.
2. Promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and explain all benefits.
3. Accurately balance cash drawer at the end of the day.
4. Maintain a clean working environment and personal workspace.
5. Engage in conversation with customers to add a personal touch to each transaction.
6. End each transaction by saying “thank you” to every customer.
7. Maintain a professional appearance on the sales floor.
8. Contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team.
9. Perform basic math; compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs.
10. Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
11. Write simple correspondence.
12. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
13. Demonstrate strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
14. Exercise judgment and tact while working with customers or co-workers.
15. Work assigned schedules which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
16. Assist in all other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be available a minimum of two weekends a month. Average hours per week are 15-25 hours.

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED preferred and/or 1-3 months of cashiering experience.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation. Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
