Job summary

Blue Jay Springs senior living community is seeking a Part Time Caregiver/Medication Aide to join our team of dedicated professionals. The role administers prescribed medications and assists residents with daily living activities, while observing and documenting responses in medication records.

Hours are 2:00pm-10:00pm and/or 4:00pm-9:00pm. Candidates should have completed medication assistance training and maintain current certification, with strong communication and compassionate, team-focused

Responsibilities

• Administers prescribed medications and treatments per state regulations.
• Observes residents taking medications and documents effects in medication administration records.
• Communicates concerns or observations with Wellness Director or designated personnel.
• Supports residents with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, socialization, cognition and physical health.
• Encourages resident independence and preserves resident dignity through professional conduct.

About the Opportunity

The Medication Aide administers prescribed medications and treatments to residents who need assistance in accordance with state regulatory stipulations and requirements for safe administration. Observes the resident taking the medication, notes effects including any unexpected or adverse effects, correctly documents the required information in the residents' medication administration records, communicates any concerns or observations with the Wellness Director, Wellness Coordinator or designated personnel. The Medication Aide also supports residents with activities of daily living including personal hygiene, socialization, cognition, and physical health. Encourages resident independence, supports resident choice and preserves resident dignity through professional conduct and interactions.

The hours for this position are 2:00pm-10:00pm and/or 4:00pm-9:00pm

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior direct care experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
