Job summary

Ohana Pacific Health is seeking a Substitute Caregiver (Companion) for Hale Makua Health Services in Wailuku, Maui. The role focuses on hospitable personal care, homemaking, and befriending to support Kupuna with daily living and holistic care.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, state-approved Nurse Aide Training, CPR/First Aid, a valid driver’s license, and Hawaii CNA preferred. TB clearance and health review are required, with in-house options available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; minimum age 18.
• Must complete a state approved Nurse Aide Training Program.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Valid driver’s license.
• CNA certification in Hawaii preferred.
• 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct services to the residents of the ARCH, supporting daily living needs and assisting the nurse in a holistic approach to care.
• Recognize, record, and report to the nurse any significant change in health status or well-being in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate knowledge to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria for adult and geriatric populations.
