Responsibilities

  • Provide career coaching to help students explore options, set goals, and decide on a path.
  • Administer career exploration assessments and interpret results for students.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and collect career data.
  • Assist directors with planning communications, programming, and events.
  • Collaborate with campus departments to integrate career readiness into campus life.
  • Ensure processes and materials comply with applicable rules and policies.
  • Track student data to support career services delivery.
  • Deliver on-campus presentations about career services.
  • Refer students to campus resources and community organizations as needed.
  • Performance of any related duties as assigned.

Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:


The PT Career Coach, Career Services supports the delivery of career services to students by providing career coaching, administering career assessments, and contributing to career-related programming and events aligned with students' career decision-making pathways. This position tracks student participation and service data and provides input to the planning and continuous improvement of career support programs and events.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  1. Provides career coaching to assist students in exploring career options, setting goals, and making informed career decisions

  2. Administers career exploration assessments and assists students in understanding and interpreting results

  3. Maintains accurate documentation of services and collects data relevant to career services

  4. Assists directors/managers in planning and supporting academic and career-related communication, programming, and events

  5. Collaborates with personnel across campus departments to support the integration of career awareness and readiness into campus life

  6. Monitors processes and materials, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant rules, regulations, and policies

  7. Collects and tracks student data to support delivery of relevant career services

  8. Delivers presentations on career services on campus

  9. Refers students to appropriate campus resources and community organizations as needed

  10. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:



  • High level of customer service and communication skills

  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail

  • Proficiency in the use of general office and software applications

  • Ability to prepare reports and to analyze data

  • Possess excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities


PHYSICAL ABILITIES:


The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.


WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:



  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment

  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position

  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
