Qualifications

• Associate's degree or completion of an accredited program in cardiac ultrasound.
• RDCS or RCS registered credential required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all cardiac ultrasound studies including echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms.
• Adheres to NYU policies and IAC standards during procedures.
• Ensures patient comfort, explains procedures, and verifies patient identity.
• Creates preliminary reports and enters pertinent patient data.
• Uses high-technology ultrasound equipment and maintains equipment integrity.
• Notifies staff of abnormalities requiring immediate attention.
• Compares current studies with prior results to assess changes.
• Contributes to accreditation documentation and records.
• Assists with patient handling and equipment movement, as needed.
