Job summary

Wharton County Junior College (WCJC) Richmond campus is seeking a Part-Time Peer Tutor to support students in the Learning Center. The tutor will assist with tutoring in core courses, study skills, and time management, and help in the Learning Center computer lab.

Applicants must be enrolled at WCJC, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and have completed a college English or Algebra course with a grade of B or higher.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current enrollment (or continued enrollment) at WCJC.
• Completion of a college English or Algebra course with a grade of B or higher.
• Ability to relate to students and adapt explanations to diverse learning styles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Brightspace LMS.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students in core courses, study skills, and time management.
• Assist in the Learning Center computer lab and related tutoring tasks.
• Provide a welcoming and supportive environment for students.
• Prepare and organize tutoring sessions and track student progress.
