Job summary

Pierpont Community and Technical College is seeking a Security Guard to monitor campus safety across all Pierpont facilities. The role conducts regular patrols, controls access, enforces policies, and assists with incidents, safety drills, and emergencies in coordination with local police and campus security.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, the ability to respond quickly to incidents, and experience operating CCTV and central security systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or higher required and one year security or law enforcement experience.
• Must have a valid West Virginia driver’s license; willing to work days or evenings as needed.
• CPR and first aid certification and BLET certification preferred but must be completed within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to individuals in need of medical attention.
• Enforce campus parking/traffic regulations.
• Periodically patrol buildings and grounds of the College campuses.
• Monitor doors, windows, and gates to ensure security.
• Record data such as property damage and incidents for supervisor review.
• Call police or fire in emergencies.
• Operate central control security platform and video surveillance system.
• Participate in Safety committee activities.
