Job summary

The University of Florida is looking for a Part-time OPS Security Guard to help protect the Main Campus in Gainesville. You will perform security duties, respond to alarms, monitor access, patrol facilities, and support emergency response as needed.

The role emphasizes customer service, professional conduct, and adherence to security policies. A high school diploma and a Florida driver’s license are required, with preferred Class D license and experience in security or customer service.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate emergency response with police, fire, EH&S for emergencies as needed.
• Respond to alarms and security incidents across the facility.
• Monitor Genetec surveillance and Lenel access systems; report issues.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service in person, by phone or email.
• Perform facility lock ups, post orders, and shift instructions as directed by the Security Supervisor.
• Enforce security policies and restricted access to sensitive areas.
• Maintain logs and perform routine safety patrols and parking inspections.
