Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.

• Successful background check and fingerprinting.
• No felony or crimes of moral turpitude.
• Valid driver's license meeting Mason Vehicle Use Policy requirements.
• Ability to complete Virginia DCJS Campus Security Officer certification training after hire.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Strong command of English (verbal and written).
• Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and overnight on a rotating basis.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors and withstand varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide campus security services 24 hours a day.
• Monitor university buildings, areas, and property.
• Perform lock-downs, unlocks, fire watches, and safety escorts.
• Keep academic offices, labs, and sensitive areas secure.
• Observe and report suspicious activity and write incident reports.
• Report security-related hazards and unsafe conditions.
