Job summary

Purdue University in West Lafayette is seeking an Operations Assistant for the France A. Cordova Recreation and Wellness Center. The role supports daily operations and offers 6–12 hours per week during the current semester.

Prerequisites include CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens certification or ability to obtain within 30 working days. Flexibility for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and minimum of one semester of college coursework completed.
• Active enrollment at Purdue University, Purdue Global, or local college/high school.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all facility policies and procedures are enforced.
• Maintain high standard of cleanliness throughout the facility.
• Maintain safety and risk management standards of the department.
• Provide laundry service for all CoRec needs, including the Equipment Center, GroupX/F45, and Aquatics.
• Assist the Operation Manager with facility setup and teardown.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and cardio, track, and weight areas through scheduled cleaning.
• Report equipment needs and maintenance repairs.
• Maintain organization of weight room, track, and cardio area equipment.
• Be knowledgeable about Emergency Action Plan scenarios and respond to incidents.
• Provide first aid care for injuries and biohazard cleanup.
• Assist the Operations Manager and Specialist in risk management and event management.
• Attend all monthly staff trainings.
