Job summary

University of North Texas in Denton seeks a Non-Student Hourly Counselor to provide outreach, individual, group, and crisis counseling as part of Counseling & Testing Services. The 0.48 FTE, 19 hours per week position is located in Denton, TX, and requires a Texas-licensed or eligible LPC/LMSW with a master's degree in a mental health field.

Primary duties include intake assessments, evidence-based counseling, risk assessment, and collaboration with campus resources to support student well-being

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mental health related field.
• Licensed by the state of Texas as LPC Associate, LMSW, or equivalent.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.

Responsibilities

• Intake/ICON: conduct initial consultations and plan next steps; document data.
• Individual Counseling: provide counseling and document interventions; assess risk.
• Crisis Counseling: provide crisis support and safety planning; coordinate follow-up.
• Professional Development/Ethics/Legal Standards: maintain licensure, CEU, and ethics.
