Job summary

The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is hiring a part-time Banquet Set-Ups staff for the campus Hospitality department. This role involves preparing banquet spaces for various events, ensuring every detail is meticulously arranged to meet guests’ expectations.

Key duties include setting up rooms with equipment and supplies, gathering and staging banquet materials, and maintaining cleanliness in all function areas.

Qualifications

• Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours at a time).
• Ability to move, lift and handle equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Setting up meeting rooms, dining rooms and public spaces with tables, chairs, linens, A/V equipment, bars, podium, dance floors, etc.
• Gather supplies for banquet events and stage for service staff.
• Emptying trash from function areas and banquet service areas.
• Changing linen and preparing areas for cleaning by linen company.
• Vacuuming, dusting and cleaning storerooms and corridors after events.
• Cleaning and mopping storerooms and banquet areas as directed.
• Transporting food to banquet areas and removing dishes to the dish room.
• Storing equipment neatly and inventorying materials as directed.
