Job summary

Adventure Science Center in Nashville, TN is seeking a Part-Time Camp Specialist to help bring each camp day to life, coordinating with the Formal Programs Manager and Learning Specialists. You will prepare schedules, activities, and materials, and support counselors and volunteers to keep camp safe, welcoming, and fun.

The schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm, with a focus on keeping daily routines on track and engaging with campers and families throughout each session.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or camps preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with children in a camp or group setting.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Program Coordinator with daily administrative and operational tasks.
• Collaborate with the Program Coordinator in building camp schedules, rosters, counselor schedules, and other tasks related to preparing for each camp.
• Assist with camper records, rosters, and basic data entry.
• Assist the Program Coordinator with staff onboarding and training logistics when appropriate.
• Help prepare program spaces, activity materials, and resources for daily use.
• Serve as support staff when camp is in session.
• Assist camp counselors in classroom and activity spaces, including stepping in to provide coverage as needed.
• Collaborate with the Learning Specialists in developing, preparing, and organizing camp curriculum, activities, and materials.
• Interact professionally and positively with campers, families, staff, and volunteers.
• Support and collaborate with camp volunteers during activities and special events.
• Help ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all campers.
• Assist with transitions, supervision, and daily routines throughout the camp day.
• Follow all camp policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
