Kansas City Public Schools is hiring a Part Time Café Manager to oversee The Cardinal Cafe at the Career and Technical Center. The role focuses on cafe operations, food handling, and delivering high-quality customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

The Café Manager will supervise staff, manage inventory and revenue, and ensure compliance with food safety standards. This seasonal/temporary, in-person role requires 20 hours per week and reports to the Director of CTE.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Three (3) years prior food service experience
• Knowledge of inventory and procurement process
• Basic math and writing skills
• Current food handler’s permit
• Food handler license

Responsabilités

• Supervise and direct the work of assigned personnel
• Prepare and sell convenient food for patrons
• Provide feedback on student participation/work as needed to ensure Café / Culinary arts goals are achieved
• Perform tasks to open the café area. Arrive at least 1 hour prior to opening
• Clean and maintain café area at all times in order to ensure the cafe area and all appliances are washed and clean for the next shift as needed
• Complete nightly inventory and revenue reports
• Serve customers in a friendly, professional manner
• Promote dishes as needed to encourage patron participation and feedback as needed
