Job summary

Encore Village of Schaumburg is seeking a part-time Cafe/Bistro Associate in the Dining Department. Responsibilities include stocking the dining area, assisting guests, taking orders via POS, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.

Experience in cafe/food service preferred; high school diploma or GED required. Must be able to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed. Excellent communication and customer-service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills; must be able to demonstrate effective reading, writing and speaking and analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented; perform duties with great accuracy each day.
• Proficient with computer-related tasks and POS systems.
• Flexible to work overtime, holidays and weekends as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Stock area with par levels and complete paperwork for pars.
• Stock smallwares/condiments and maintain area.
• Greet guests courteously and communicate professionally with residents and coworkers.
• Take orders by phone or in person using company POS software.
• Assist in delivering orders and handling payments.
• Maintain cleanliness; sweep, mop, and bus tables.
• Attend daily pre-shift meetings and follow policies and sanitation procedures.
• Report maintenance issues to supervisors.
• Adhere to HACCP and food safety practices.
• Maintain storage areas and equipment as directed.
