Job summary

Virginia Military Institute seeks a highly creative part‑time videographer to capture engaging video content that supports cadet recruitment and the VMI brand. The role sits in the Office of Public Information and Marketing and involves creating material for digital platforms, events, and campaigns.

The ideal candidate will shoot, edit, light, and mix audio, contribute to a growing library of b‑roll, and work with a team to tell the VMI story authentically across channels.

Qualifications

• Industry experience shooting, editing, or producing video.
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs or similar audio and video editing software.
• Experience with video equipment, studio and location lighting, audio recording, and editing video projects.
• Lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a library of current B-roll of cadet life, academics, ROTC, and events, and support coverage of key Institute events.
• Skillfully operate video equipment and manage audio/visual assets.
• Serve as director, camera operator, or other equipment operator as needed.
• Use audio/video software for titling, audio mixing, editing, and media export; store assets for future use.
