Job summary

Green Mountain Transit in Vermont is seeking a part-time bus operator to transport passengers safely and efficiently. You will wear a complete uniform, report to Dispatch, and provide helpful information to riders.

Applicants must hold a CDL with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements, maintain a clean driving record, pass a DOT medical exam and pre-employment drug screen, and demonstrate strong customer service skills. Bonuses are available for safety and attendance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• CDL with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements required.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass background checks, a DOT medical examination, and a pre-employment drug screen required.
• Familiarity with transportation services and excellent customer service skills beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operates various buses in a safe, efficient manner.
• Provides helpful customer service to passengers, including directions and fare information.
• Arrives on time, in uniform, and checks in with Dispatcher at start/end of shift.
• Provides assistance to disabled passengers when necessary.
• Complies with traffic laws and communicates via radio with Dispatch.
• Performs pre-trip inspections and completes required reports.
