Job summary

Lancaster Fairfield Public Transit (LFPT) in Ohio seeks a part-time bus driver to deliver safe, reliable transportation for riders. You will operate vans and buses, assist passengers including the elderly and disabled, and coordinate with schedulers to plan pickups and routes.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and the ability to pass a DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with no suspensions in the past 5 years and clean driving record.
• Ability to operate vans and passenger buses and assist passengers as needed.
• Must pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation to customers with excellent customer service.
• Operate steering, braking, accelerating, and control components of buses/vans.
• Transport passengers to various locations up to 100 miles from Fairfield County, Ohio.
• Assist elderly, disabled, and medically fragile passengers into/out of vehicles.
• Secure, load and unload wheelchairs as necessary.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain trip records.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and complete required training.
