Job description

Are you looking for a position that makes a difference in the lives of others? Look no further! We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic, and dependable individual to join our team driving public transit bus part-time in our Milaca location. The ideal candidate should be personable, customer-focused, values safety, a logical thinker, and a proactive problem-solver.


Primary responsibilities include:
  1. Safely operate bus on assigned route, staying on schedule and providing excellent service to customers.
  2. Assist passengers as needed with mobility aids including wheelchairs, walkers or other aids, assuring that all passengers are secured properly and all mobility aids are stowed securely.
  3. Conduct daily and weekly vehicle inspections and report defects to Lead Driver.
  4. Monitor fare collection from passengers.
  5. Complete paperwork related to bus operation and passenger concerns.
  6. Be responsible for daily cleaning and bus maintenance.
Starting Hourly Wage: $19.85- $23.82
Part-time benefits include: PTO accrual, paid holidays, paid personal days, retirement savings plan.
PLUS: We will pay for your training to obtain your CDL!
Qualifications
  1. CDL with a passenger endorsement, MNDOT medical exam card, OR ability to obtain.
  2. Pass DMV violations check and criminal background check.
  3. Pass pre-employment drug screening, ability to comply with FTA drug and alcohol testing regulations.
  4. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds, maneuver and secure mobility devices, and drive for extended periods of time.
  5. Excellent customer service and effective communication skills.
  6. Ability to work with a diverse population, including people with disabilities.
  7. Proficient with computers, navigation technology.
  8. Must be available for scheduling Monday-Saturday, 20-29 hours per week.
